How Can I Update a Target Table From a Soft-Delete to a Hard-Delete Table?

Question

My target table contains soft-deletes. However, my source table is a hard-delete table. How can I ensure my target table matches my source table by updating it to a hard-delete table?

Answer

To update your target table to a hard-delete table, do the following:

1. Remove any actions that define the SoftDelete parameter. If you're unsure which actions to remove, contact our support team.
2. Run Activate Replication with the following options selected: Jobs, Table Enrollment, and Replace Old Enrollment.
3. In the Activate Replication dialog, click Refresh Data into Target After Activation > Create Missing Target Tables and Alter or Recreate Tables with Incorrect Layout > Recreate All Tables.
