Location Connection for File, FTP, SFTP

This section describes the connection details required for creating File / FTP / SFTP location in Data Source Solutions DSS. For information about the pre-requisites, access privileges, and other configuration requirements for creating File / FTP / SFTP location, see File / FTP / SFTP Requirements.

If the managed secrets feature is enabled, option USE TOKEN INSTEAD is displayed in the fields designated for entering secrets.

Field Description Equivalent Location Property
PROTOCOL

Protocol for connecting DSS to the file server.

Available options are:

  • Local default
  • SFTP
  • FTPS (FTP with implicit SSL/TLS encryption)
  • FTP (FTP with optional SSL/TLS encryption)
 File_Scheme
DIRECTORY Directory path where the files are replicated to or captured from. File_Path
ENCRYPTION

Encryption type used for connecting DSS to the file server. This field is displayed only if PROTOCOL is set to FTP (FTP with optional SSL/TLS encryption).

Available options are:

  • No encryption default
  • SSL Explicit encryption
  • TLS Explicit encryption
 FTP_Encryption_Type
HOST Hostname or IP-address of the server on which the file server is running. File_Host
PORT Port number on which the file server is expecting connections. File_Port
USER Username for connecting DSS to the file server. File_User
PASSWORD Password of the USER. File_Password

PROXY Show/Hide the connection parameters for proxy server, which is used for connecting DSS to the file server.
PROXY PROTOCOL

Protocol for the proxy server host used for connecting DSS to the file server .

Available options are:

  • HTTP
  • SOCKS4
  • SOCKS4A
  • SOCKS5
  • SOCKS5H
 File_Proxy_Scheme
PROXY HOST Host name of the proxy server used for connecting DSS to the file server . File_Proxy_Host
PROXY PORT Port number for the proxy server host used for connecting DSS to the file server . File_Proxy_Port
PROXY USER

Username for the proxy server host used for connecting DSS to the file server .

PROXY PASSWORD Password for the PROXY USER. File_Proxy_Password
