Error: F_JD223C: DBMS Error [Cannot Issue SAVE TRANSACTION When There Is No Active Transaction]

Issue

While running a Refresh job, the following error appears:

F_JD223C: DBMS error [Cannot issue SAVE TRANSACTION when there is no active transaction]

Environment

• DSS 6
• Source: SQL Server

Resolution

To resolve this issue, define the action Environment for the SQL Server location or location group with the following parameters and values:

• Name=DSS_MSSQL_LAST_LSN_DISCOVERY_METHOD
• Value=DBTABLE

Cause

This issue occurs when DSS is unable to obtain the current Log Sequence Number (LSN) from SQL Server using our default discovery method.
